I have a large-ish tank (72"x28"x28"). Half inch glass. I have two magfloat scrapers. The large one is a good size, but the magnet is so strong that it's kind of hard to push it around the glass. The medium sized one is easy to scrape with, but I'd rather have something bigger. Anyone know of a better option? Even bigger than the large magfloat would be nice, but not if it has such a strong magnet.

I put a little pledge furniture polish on the felt part of the scraper and it makes a world of difference on how easy the scraper moves across the glass and it keeps it's strong grip for powerful scraping. Give it a try.

Check the flipper series magnet cleaners. I haven’t personally used one but it seems like a better substitute for the mag floats. It also has a blade to help scape some of the harder algae on the glass without having to put your hand in the tank.

Interesting...I'll try this! I use mighty magnets and it is a BEAST to move across the glass. I even have the extra spacer in between. In hindsight, I should have gone with the next smaller version as I do not need the power of the FF-4. Overall, highly recommended large cleaning solution; takes very little time to clean a large tank.

There are a ton of magnetic glass scraper comparison videos on YouTube. I bet you’ll find what you are looking for there. I have a flipper and love it but doesn’t do well with a tough algae on the glass running along the sand line. I’ve been getting my arm wet to address it. Watched a comparison video that demonstrated the Tunze was best for the difficult stuff. Just received it yesterday and will give it a go this weekend. Hopefully I’ll be able to keep my arm out of the aquarium!

I have used mag, then the flipper. I got received last night the Tunze long that I won from the photo bomb contest. This thing is nice! Works on curved glass too.
2 plastic blades, one on each side and a spare plus a ss one of you need it.
