Hello, I am looking at building myself a tank to save on money, and I think I want the dimensions to be 48x30x14 rimless with no brace. I am notnsurenhow to calculate glass thickness. If I had the bottom panel be 1/2 inch thick, and all of the sides be 1/4 inch thick, would that hold?

1/2 inch bottom is always smart and being only 14" tall you can use 3/8 however being rimless I would use 1/2 good luck.

+1 1/2" at least. My tank is 48x36x16 and its 1/2". Ive seen the deep blue 30 gal 24x24x12 rimless cubes and they are made with 1/4" glass and the glass is only 12" high, but i can see a slight bow in the panels. they also make a 60 gal rimless thats 48" instead of 24" and its made with 3/8" glass and you can see the same bow. Hope this helps good luck with you build.
