Stupid Newbie question here.
If I leave one of the tops open, will that create more oxygen or do I need to add a powerhead?

If I leave one of the tops open, will that create more oxygen or do I need to add a powerhead?

Leaving one of them open and pointing a powerhead towards the surface to break the surface tension will promote better gas exchange and help keep the tank cooler.

Probably need a power head but... what do you have for flow now? What size tank? What's your stocking plans?

I personally prefer to leave it closed and still run a powerhead aimmed up. Fighting evaporation is certainly no fun at all.
