What is the general consensus on these? Who uses them, who doesn't? These digital economy models have to much spread for me to feel comfortable... Are there reliable thermometers for under $30? Was thinking of going with a glass thermometer. What is your go to for tank temp?

Well i got 3 glass thermoters and also 3 different readings lol.
25°c
26°c
28°
So it reckon it about 26.5 ha ha
I was going get digital one for around £ 20 but read need change batteries very often otherwise they give false readings and alot not that accurate.
But also read with glass thermoters that also may not be accurate as the paper/plastic they put in with the numbers on can shift or may not been put in correctly.
Im sure some controllers be more accurate but guess would have to clean the probe more often.
I think i just buy cheap £ 5 glass /alcohol thermoters every 6 months to keep new one in always but following to see others opinions ^_^

It is easy to check their accuracy at 32° F with a ice bath.

I’ve got four thermometers on my tank. Two digital and two glass, they’re all within around 2.5° of each other, so I set my heater to around 78° according to the glass thermometers and 80° according to the digitals. I’m not too concerned with having the exact temperature, so long as it’s within a couple degrees of 78°, and it stays stable (I get probably 0.5° movement throughout the day), I’m not concerned.

i have 2 of the same brand(top fin digital) that are one degree off of each other...i choose to believe the one that agrees with the readout on my chiller but who knows...and a glass one thats another degree higher than those two....
