So I've been lurking R2R for a long time but never really posted on here. Since the lack of local forums, others have mentioned just jumping ship to the "better" community of R2R.

I'll see how it goes but here is my build so far.........

A lot of Chaeto vs most who start only with a softball size mine is more like 3gallon bag!

**Rowaphos is run at 1/2 recommended so it does not outcompete my Chaeto. I had a problem in the past where I ran too much and it kept killing off my chaeto. I decided ahead of time to run 1/2 recommended and have not shown any of this. I am running at 0.02-0.04~ PH from my Hanna PH test kit.**

**Within the next week, I'll be receiving my custom overflow box for a somewhat "unique" setup.**

Overflow box with cover will come with "ledges" so that unlike others that glue their frags to the overflow box. I won't have to worry about them falling off.

As you can see, I'm still in the beginning cycle with some diatoms and dino algae. It was horrible about a week ago so it's going away.

I just finished setting up my Reef Octopus 90int with BRS Biopellets. There have been great reviews on biopellets and I had reactor from the setup so I'll try this method to see how I like it. I'll probably switch pellets in the future but I had over 750ml left of the above biopellets so I'll use it.

I'll be running a reduced GFO doseage since I see it is more active on NO3 vs Po4.

I have a lot to learn and hopefully R2R will help me get to my desired full blown SPS with zoas, clams setup!!

Started BRS BioPellets since I got it from the tank purchase with a ReefOctopus Biochurn 90int. I took my carbon offline but still running Rowaphos since all the reviews still show PO4 is not completely taken care of by the biopellets.

So like most reefers they want to limit the need to do things with their tank or even put their hands in the tank.

BioPellets are really almost set and forget. You just have to place new pellets when they begin to be removed by the colonized bacteria.

I am dosing Prodibio BioDigest and MB7 so hopefully the diversification of bacteria will be plenty. I also started at more of a ~75% of the recommended volume so it does not crash my tank. Biggest concern is the biochurn is in the same chamber in my sump as my skimmer but it does not have a direct output so it isn't straight into my skimmer but I would assume it would pull a high percentage of it.

We'll see how it goes. I constantly check PO4, alk, cal, mag but not really on nitrates since 90% of the time it is near undetectable for me.

How well built is your glass cages tank? I'm thinking about ordering 1 here in the next month or so and have read mixed reviews but they have been from 3-5 years ago and there aren't many for the last 1-2 years
