I'm picking up a tank and it has one of these on it, and I was going to take it and put it on a 40 breeder

I have seen a few people use them, is there anything I should be aware of, be a reason not to use it?

Also If I do you use, does it matter if I put it in the middle of the back glass and not the side corner?

I have glass hole overflow on all three of my tanks. They were real good 10 years ago, but with the new slimmer versions (shadow and ghost), I would look into those. the lids will always warp with gh which leaves room for critters . Also, I do have them in the middle of my tanks instead of the corner. Pros, they do work well. Cons, inside depth of box inside the tank, and the lid will warp..

Open drain, so can be loud. they work though.
