Glue Frozen

I glued and screwed two 2x6's to use as support for my floor joists. I did this in the crawl space and the glue froze. Will this be a problem? Should I try to break the boards apart and redo?

Wait after reading again screwed and glue I would be more than certain that the glue isnt doing as much as the screws and is just added security. You should be fine you can redo but I would bet that screws will do just fine.

I would suggest redoing and letting dry inside your house if possible before putting it in under the floor.

I used Gorilla Wood Glue. I remember building a table in the late 80s in Louisiana and the glue kept freezing. That was on thinner wood and no screws. Easy to break apart and clean. These boards are 15 ft long and I put in about 80 screws. Well, I guess better safe than sorry. Thanks

That is what I am hoping. Thats a lot of work to undo.

Ok didnt realize you were using that long of wood and that many screws.

I think you will be ok without the glue...

But I also think you're ok with the 80 screws and the glue how it is....but I'm no contractor

Hmmmmm. I think I might go ahead and drill it and put in a few bolts and nuts to play it safe. My joists are 15 feet long and 26 inch centers. I am putting one beam across in middle for room with tank. I will be doing one more for the length of the tanks

That glue is doing nothing when you have 50+ screws in it

If you can use one or 2 of these I suggest it. They are great because as it settles you can adjust the jack

I was looking into those, but I would need to wait until May or June because the cement would wind up freezing instead of curing. I am using pylon cement plates and 4x4's. Have to learn how to use a carpenters plumb. Should be interesting.
Or maybe I can install now and cement in later. Hadn't thought about that.

They are called post Jack's look up other ones. Most definitely dont have to cement them in eaither just uses pressure. They use them in basements for when the foundation settles.

The thread on R2R on shoring up floors, the guy recommends using cement around the footings. I am from climates without basements and much better building codes. I am amazed that my cabin hasn't fallen down as it is. Not cementing them in makes them much more appealing. Do I still space them about 6 feet apart? Do they require using a carpenters plumb?

No I would think it would be unnecessary to use a plumb that is for finding perfect vertical. if you use the Jack's you can make sure its level on the side of the jack. I'm not 100% I know what you are doing. Some pictures would help if you can just to see what you are trying to achieve. Then my suggestion might be different.

Sorry it took so long to get back to you. Work and weather are insane. I haven’t been able to get down there and take pics but I tried to draw a diagram. The blue lines are the joists. 15 ft long and 26 inch center 2x6. I glued and screwed 2 2x6 15 ft long and capped them with 2x4 sorta making a 4x8 beam. That is represented by the red line. How far apart should I place the screw jacks?
