Sorry folks I have been ill and have not set up a tank in a while. As far as the durso plumbing kit which pieces (PVC) do you feel need to be glued and which not? I think the drain would be ok not glued but the return pieces need to be? I will also be using the plastic clamps for the hose on the return pump. Thanks!

Are you talking all the plumbing inside and outside the tank? Outside tank Everything should be glued inside just the returns so they don't blow off under pressure.

I would glue the bottom part of the Durso. Always hated reaching to the bottom of the O/F to fetch fittings. As for the return, Yes glue it all except for the 90 inside the tank. That way you can swing it around to direct water flow.

Our pipe is glued, but the pipe at bulk head is press fit. At times I like yo clean the overflow box and I can pull the pope and flush bottom of box out.

Also if a fish jumps into over flow box I can pull pipe and catch him in the sump.
