I still have snails and urchins knocking over glued down coral frags with putty.
Any other way to prevent this?

use more? do you use the sandwich method? glue, epoxy, glue?
Star Wars Disney Plus GIF by Disney+

But certain slimy corals may still not work.

The best is subjective. I always used Instant Ocean but it has doubled in price. The last time I got Two Little Fishes and I liked it better.

I kinda feel like most epoxies are about the same -- not always great for sticking power (which is why you add Super Glue to the sandwich) but if you can get them to squeeze into holes/crevasses or around projections they hold structurally.

Instant Ocean HoldFast is my choice just 'cause it's cheap and seems fine.
*personally, I usually just use Super Glue though

EDIT -- just saw last post about Instant Ocean doubling in price,,, yeah, I bought 4 oz for $5.59 last year and now I see it's $12 (on Amazon),,, bummer

I use jb water weld sandwiched between super glue gel. There are other marine specific products but water weld is readily available locally. Another thing that helps if you not already doing it is to take a toothbrush and clean the area are glueing to then put some glue on your finger and spread it over that area that you cleaned. It helps the glue on the frag to bond.
