whats peoples experience using just super glue gel to glue corals to live rock under water will this glue hold it tight enough? in the past ive gotten whole colonies but with the price of corals so high now i may have to start with frags and start gluing them down to keep them in place

I use only super glue gel to attach my frags, and you do have to hold it in place for maybe 30 sec or so to get it to adhere. The other trick is that it will be a challenge to stick to any rock that has algae or something on it. If I have that situation, I will take a toothbrush and clean off the area so that it's down to rock/coraline. I use Gorilla Glue Gel...but the Locktite you linked works too.

The good/bad thing about using just the super glue..is if you or a large fish bump the coral..it can come off the rock. I say good and bad because if you place it...and feel like it needs a better spot, generally you can get it off the rock as long as it hasn't encrusted yet. If it's unintentional, then just load up the base with some more glue..and stick it back on.

Many people use a sandwich of putty and super glue, but I've never done that myself.

I use a the locktite gel and put just enough to keep my Vlamingi from moving em, but not enough that I can't move it to relocate. I either remove the entire plug or cut the stem off and glue em down. I usually have to take a razor blade and pop em loose, but that keeps my "interior designer" from moving things around on me

I haven't had good luck with normal super glue. It seems to be to liquidy and just floats off in the water. I use the gel stuff

For lighter frags I'll scrub the spot with a toothbrush place a small dab of glue on that spot, add some glue to the frag and press and wiggle the frag onto that spot for few seconds until it holds. For heavier frags I'll do the putty and glue sandwich method.
I've started using this now and love it. With the tubes after you stop squeezing it would continue to come out and make a mess no matter how much I tried not to I would still get glue on my hands. Since I've been using the gel control the glue doesn't continue to run and no more messes.

does the BRS gel super glue work? I need to secure a couple of rocks now before corals get here next thursday

Already have the BRS stuff...need to add another rock and thought I'd go ahead and secure a couple of the pieces I'm worried most about while my hands are in there...
