Gmk rescue thread

I wouldnt give up on GMK. Could have been a ton of things. I got mine from @SweetReefOH. Super healthy specimen. Think I got 3 polyps 6-7 months ago and probably close to 70-80 polyps now. Buy from reputable source. Try to keep as close to same par as system you get them from.

I’d like to think you can over do things. Mine was a single polyp and grew matting and a new polyp in a week. My tank just hit 2 months and I only do one thing. Whatever frozen food I feed my fish, I target feed a chunk of food or the little bits onto each head of my zoas. I have cheap to expensive zoas and they all grow roughly 1-2 polyps per week at the moment. I have a budget set up I’d like to think with just an HOB and 2 wave makers as filtration so I think I’m doing pretty good. I’d recommend the same!

wow. It’s great that you have been so successful with this one. Are growth rates like that typical?

Growth rates will vary across systems but from what I gather GMK is typically a super hardy strain that does really well for folks. I'm keeping mine close around 190 par. Moderate flow. Source a frag from healthy system. Try to keep params as solid to tank you got them from and you should be ok:D Sweet Reef has some sweet stuff I'd be on the look out next time he drops some.
