Thanks.
A while back the Hero1 was on sale for $160 and was thinking about getting one for the tank and when I'm on the R6.

You need the corrective lens for the GoPro to use it under water.
its not a problem when doing it inside a fish tank since everything is so close the problem is while people are diving the camera tends to blur far away areas. i never had a problem filming anything up close underwater.

I had one and it was ok. Very nice of you for your offer to use it. There are other cameras like it for l mney with equal quality on newegg if someone is thinking of buying one.

Which one do you have? The newer one may not need it. I have the Hero HD and it doesn't matter how close you are it is distorted under water and you have to use this GoPro Hero camera-underwater focus fix . I've tried mine and it looks like crap without it. here is a good side by side video of what i mean GoPro HD Hero underwater focus FIXED on Vimeo

The gopro is one of the best andy for the money. I've tried a lot of them out there and the gopro is hard to beat. There are many members on here that can vouch for the quality of them.

I had the first one so maybe the second version is much improved....just wish the battery life was better.bit was a cool gadget....just not practical for me. I dont dive lol.

Yea, the newer ones are really nice. They are full 1080p HD and its is a real 1080P. They also have the ability to change the viewing angle with the software inside the camera now. The originals only had the "Fisheye" lens, so everything was warped.

Yes..that was a detriment for close ups. Glad they have it worked out with the newer version..just still a but pricey LOL.
