So I ordered from aquarium depot and as I'm waiting for a knock at my door I realize I have a message saying my hammer coral was attacked and id have to wait till next week for a new shipment. is this typical of online stores? anyway I was wondering where everyone else shops from to avoid none sense like this in The future.

Not typical but great to hear that they communicated with you rather than leaving you wondering what’s going on

Aqua SD has always worked for me, also Vivid aquariums have worked well. For fish, I order from live aquaria but they have their own major problems. My only terrible experience was with aquariumfishsale, I will never order from them again and advise you to be careful as well.

Aqua SD just had a massive sale to clear out stock. If my memory recalls they will restock Saturday. But this is the first time I’ve ordered from them and can’t say anything about quality yet but they have good prices and tons of variety.

This stuff can happen. Actually funny because twice I’ve had a package get delayed for weeks when ordered through algae barn. That’s why only order things through BRS. Amazon never has delays imo

Really? How come? I have done 3 orders for them and minus the last one(UPS Fault not theirs) have been perfect. They even refunded my DOA corries.

I mean things like that happen, if you order a wysiwyg animal and it gets sick, that's the best they can do. Or would you prefer them to send you the sick one or an entirely different one?

I ordered 4 purple queen anthias from them that were dead on arrival with velvet, and they would not refund, they kept claiming my pictures were not good enough. The pictures were perfect, they were on white paper towels so I am not sure why they did not refund me for those. I have had DOA with other companies and have always gotten a full refund. Then in that same order, I bought 2 Bartlett anthias and received Evansi anthias. I really needed Bartletts so this was a letdown, and once again when I kept sending photos of the Evansi they repeated their claim that the pictures were not close enough or it was too hard to tell. Really embarrassing that they don't know the difference between Evansi and Bartletts.

I just received an order from Austin Aqua Farms and everything was well packaged and healthy. Prices are good for the sizes you get. One of the Acan's I ordered they said did not look good so they sent me several pictures of possible substitutes. I was very satisfied with the substitute colony I selected.

see that sounds reliable, and the shipping is 15 bucks so I don't feel like I have to spend 200 plus to save money

I've had good experience from Pacific East Aquarium, Maryland certified and licensed coral aquaculture facility, with $29.99 overnight shipping (can't beat that!) https://pacificeastaquaculture.com/ You should also try to source local reef swaps and keepers who sell from their homes. GL

That's a good point, I used to do that years ago before I took a break from reefing thanks

I've been impressed with Lucky Corals. Everything they've sent has been bigger and nicer than I expected from the photos, they've been awesome at communicating with me and not sending me things if they don't look healthy enough to ship. Seems like they actually care and aren't just trying to make a quick buck. Also have never had aptasia pop on anything from them, which I can't say is true for some of the other places I've tried.
