Goby and jumping

I have 150g 48x30x24 tank am u still at risk of him jumping out? Is this the best goby for sand shifting? And finally I bought egg crate to cover tank in case I decide to get him it works but looks like it dims my t5's

Dude. There are like 2000 gobies...which one are you referring to?

Eggcrate can help usually for jumping fish.

all fish can jump. I run an open top tank and only fish I have had jump out was a clown

Use 1/4" clear mesh to cover your tank; a much better option than eggcrate.

They are notorius jumpers.I've tried on three different occasions and I made a screen for the top and they still jumped out.

+1 on the 1/4" clear mesh. Get it from brs, and the spline/metal from home depot. It is a very easy project, and costs less than $20

I've been amazed what fish have jumped through eggcrate on my tank. I now have it covered with screen to prevent this. Clear mess and a frame is the best way to stop jumping out of the tank.

They are amazing jumpers and will usually find the smallest hole to jump thru. They do sift sand like crazy which can sometimes be an issue for low lying corals if u have any. Diamond gobies definitely add some character to a tank. I've had a few that were very territorial. If it is a small one, the mesh may need to be doubled up to make smaller holes. 1/8" by 1/8"
