I bought a yasha goby and a tiger pistol about a month ago and they seem like they try to actively avoid each other. I have two big rock islands in my tank and one stays under one pile and the other the other rock pile. About once a week I will see the yasha go to the other rock pile and I will get excited that they might pair but then the next day I see that the pistol would be under the rock pile the yasha just left from. I am not sure which one is trying to run from the other. Any tips on trying to get them to pair or is it possible to add a different type of goby or another pistol to tank without causing issues. The tank is a 75 gallon.

Give it some time as they need to get used to each other.
You have a FTS from your tank?

I thought if they were going to bond they will do it pretty fast once once they find each other. Mine avoid each other.

Here are some thing I 've read from somewhere...

1)turn off the light completely or cover the tank with towels so the fish cannot see each other and hopefully get used to each other (and become friends, maybe?)
2) Introduce another fish
3) Take out one of the fish and put it in few days later so the other fish thinks he's a newcomer

I don't know if any of these would work...
