Hi everyone,

My LFS had a cute little goby I couldn't help but pick up, but upon closer inspection at home, he seems to have numerous black spots on his spine near his dorsal fin.

I haven't found anything from the usual searches, and he's doing just fine otherwise. Could this just be pigmentation?

Also I need an ID on this fish. They said it was "pink spotted goby" and while the orange bands and size seem correct, he has no pink spots.
I'm thinking it's an "orange banded prawn goby", but it could also be a "Randall’s Shrimp Goby" if those aren't the same thing? Only difference I see is no giant black dorsal fin. Maybe a female....

Thanks for your thoughts! Video attached.

Looks like an orange banded prawn goby.

Looks fine, thanks for asking! Still black spots, but he's hanging out and eating normally.

I went this morning to the LFS and a more knowledgeable staff member with the inventory list managed to get the name "flagtail pinkbar goby"
