goby looks hungry?

my goby is new to me... he was fed at 4pm previously. in the mornings he is searching the tank almost frantically. I put a turkey battery w food right in front of him but he won't go near it. I don't know what he is looking for. it's only in the mornings before the blues come on

It's not happy for some reason and is trying to get out of the space it's in. How long have you had it? Does it have any where it can hide completly? FWIW feeding just once a day probably isn't enough for it.

I can't view the attachment but if you are feeding before lights on it is probably frightened which won't help.
