Hi all I am starting a 40 gal. breeder tank for a reef tank and I was wondering if anyone has any salt suggestions, Or any other helpful suggestions.

Thanks
Chistina

Welcome to R2R!!! In my tank I use instant ocean salt. Used to use aquavitro salinity and really liked it, just became a pain to get in my area so I switched and I'm happy with the instant ocean.

I use Instant Ocean:Reef Crystals, never had any problems with it and its not going to cost you an arm and a leg. Also welcome to the community!

i also use aquavitro salinity, switching from natural sea water from the seattle public aquarium. im seeing tremendous changes in my tank and cant wait to keep doing water changes with it. cheers

*Welcome to Reef2Reef, ChristinaV !* I usually use Instant ocean. If I had the budget for it I would use Instant Ocean Reef Crystals and/or Red Sea brand.

Welcome to R2R, I use Reef crystals, by Instant ocean, or what ever is on sale. Its salt, just my two cents, and it ain't worth much, ha ha
I seem to get more of a benefit from two part dosing than from the salt brand.

I like Coralife Marine Salt, its a good price and mixes very well. I read as many reviews on many many types of salt before I decided on that one. I do not know how it fares with coral as I never had a very good light for them.
