So. I have an issue. One of our kitties thinks he can catch a fish in the middle of the night. I know he can't but he leaves water spots on the glass and makes a mess.

I need to make a screen top but hate to just lay it over the rim. Didn't someone here make some or buy some clips that recessed their screen?

Here's what I did

Used some scrap acrylic strips and glued them to the screen frame. I will probably redo it and make 4 acrylic pieces and put them closer to the corners.

OK, Just hope it don't try to jump up there now and wind up in the tank by falling through the netting frame and all. Reason i say this is years ago we had a cat that was just like yours and actually wound up in my 150 when i lived in Ca and after that it never looked at the tank again. It was on the center brace fishing with it's paw when it went in very briefly according to my wife as i was at work when it happened. It was a fish only tank and did no harm but that cat never went near it again. Try a spray bottle of water when the cat jumps up there it may keep it off without doing any harm.

If you still have an issue with the cat they make can of compressed air with a motion sensor for training cats to stay away from certain areas. Along the same lines as a squirt bottle but you don't have to be around all the time.
