Going FOWLR fish list

After a year i have decided I like fish more than coral. I have a 180gl tank and currently have:

2 clownfish
1 lawnmower blennie
1 Spotted fox face
1 Royal geramas basslet
2 Pajama Cardinals
1 Six line wrasse
1 Hippo Tang
1 Yellow tan
2 Azure Damsel

On order from Dr Reef (coming in late Jan or Feb)
1 Yellow Watchman
1 Naso tang
2 chalk Bass

Other fish I would like;
Clown Trigger
Emperor Angelfish (Favorite)
Niger Trigger
Longnose Butterfly
dogface Puffer

I know not all these go together. What are your thoughts?

I'm kinda the same way ... I love my corals, but I love my fish more.

There are a lot of great ideas on that list.

I have two specific observations:

1) Watch out for aggression between the Hippo, Yellow, and Naso Tang ... The Naso tang is more dominant, and if it is much bigger than the other two you may have some transition problems to work out. Use an acclimation box and follow the general principles for acclimating aggressive species and you should be OK. I have all of them in my 150g (and a Purple Tang too) and they get along fine ... but it wasn't easy getting them to live together.

2) Watch out for the size that the Naso will grow to. I have a 150 and my Naso has been with me for about a year and I am really hoping he's not going to get too much bigger ... if he does he may have to get re-homed - he gets along fine with everyone but he's now almost a foot long!

The only other general observation I'd make is that your list has a lot of "singular" fish (i.e. one of each species) ... you might think instead about adding a small school of Anthias or other small fish that will get along with your Damsels and Clownfish. It's purely a personal taste thing ... I just find that it makes it more interesting.

I do be careful with trigger. They might eat your small fish.

Fish over corals all day (now I go hide since we are on reef forum lol)
