Going from substrate to bare-bottom in an established tank

Getting ready to move my established 25 gallon aio tank from my in-laws place over to my new house and was thinking of ditching the substrate and going bare bottom and switching up the aquascape while I'm at it... The move is about 20 mins and all rocks and corals will be submersed in tank water during the move. I also have a bottle of Instant Ocean BioSpira and a bottle of MicroBacter7 that I can dump in the tank afterward to rebuild the colony in the substrate I plan on ditching. Also going to run a new bag of chemipure elite as well as purigen and a pad of polyfilter to absorb any unwanted impurities.

Tank livestocks include a couple of fish, inverts, and corals such as chalices, rbta, maxi minis, rics & about 7 diff types of plate.

Your thought?

Planning on doing the move this weekend, been wanting more space on the 'sandbed' for more plates and bare-bottom would give them a better look.

Should be fine to pull the sandbed out. I would add a small amount of one or the other bottled bacteria. Make sure to have 100% water change ready to go, just in case.

How deep is the sand? Do you stir your sandbed? How often?

maybe an inch or so, dont really stir it that much if at all. I have a few nassarius to do that job.

It will be easier to keep the tank clean, if it wasn't for the fact I don't like the look of a bare bottom tank I would do the same for my FOWLR

I would siphon some sand out each time you do a water change,that way you shouldn't get any spikes.I have done that with good results.
