Hi, I just noticed my yellow tang with ich that disappeared and will be quaranting it and two clownfish tonight. I will be dosing cupramine. My question is when I am running the tank fallow for the next 76 days. Do I leave the skimmer and reactor going? In addition to that, if I add any new corals during the period will it reset my days back to 0?

I believe reactors and skimmers are fine. But with the corals. If a fish is in the tank with the corals, and the fish is a carrier, and you buy a coral, the water it travels in could carry the disease to your tank. @Humblefish will know better.

While going fallow, continue to operate your DT as you normally would. Except instead of feeding the fish every day, just drop a pinch of pellets or flake in every few days to maintain bacteria levels. And target feed your corals/inverts as needed (maybe once a week).

The problem with adding new corals is if one comes from an ich infested environment, it might have an encysted tomont on it which would reset the fallow period. Or it might not; but how can you really know for sure? The best way to protect your DT is to setup a fishless frag tank and place all corals/inverts in there for (ideally) 76 days.

I just want to say I appreciate you taking proper QT procedures and going fellow with your system. Your future inhabitants thank you
