So my tank has been up and running for 8 weeks now. All levels are spot on as I’ve taken my time to get things done right. Have 2 hermits, a pair of boxing shrimp (genuine pair), 6 Trochus snails, 2 Banggai Cardinals, a Yellow Tang and a Tailspot Blenny - the fish are certainly feeding well and the rest of the crew seem to be busy especially when lights are out.
The fish still seem to be finding their feet and aren’t confident to spend too much time in the open yet which is a bit disappointing bearing in mind the Banggai’s were the first to be added 3 weeks ago.
I seem to have gone through the algae journey - the dust algae was a pain - now just keeping the glass wiped regularly.
Not planning to add too many more fish - perhaps a couple of small gobies and I’d like a Red Dragonet but no decision made yet - as I’m wanting to fill the tank with corals.
I’ve kept fish (mainly Malawi’s) for many years but never gone seriously into marines so I’m still very nervous checking everything several times a day - the skimmer is an interesting thing as it seems to have no real consistency and will change at feeding times, water changes etc but I’m enjoying the learn.
