Going rate for Red Wines?

I'm not the best person to give advice on this subject, but personally I don't pay more than ~$20 for a frag (of anything).

If you're swapping amongst friends (i.e. your local reef club), I'd recommend low-balling your price and spreading the love around. If you're swapping with people you don't know, as much as you can get.

i'd say $60+ a polyp if they are the real deal. red wines/ruby reds are still one of the truely unique and rare zoas left in the hobby. they are MUCH more rare than PPE's IMO.

i sold a colony of 13 polyps back in the spring for like $500. i could have gotten much more if i cut it up and sold 4 frags.

Assuming they are what they say they are (and I believe them), zomania has them for $20 per polyp. :)

$60 a polyp is pretty high. I think I got mine for somewhere around $30 a polyp and I got a few different frags from three different people.

well, maybe they are more common now than i thought they were.

i know i got mine from marv.....back when virtually no one had them......

I still don't see too many of them although I think I've sold atleast 20-25 frags last year... they are more finicky than most zoas, esp after fragging them... at one point, I was fortunate to have close to 100 polyps on three separate colonies... up to acquiring them winter last year, I've searched for them for more than a year...

but back to the subject, I think $20 - $30 per polyp is the norm for Red Wines/Ruby Reds..

Closer to $100 per IMHO. (by the way I have some for sale...)

LOL! JK :D I say closer to $30....

They are finicky... I had 9 that melted away over about three months... Sickening.

yeah, they never did that great for me either. they were always small, bright, and short skirts.

in marvs tank, they bigger, with longer skirts....and not quite as bright.

i've noticed this with the "small zoa syndrome". the zoas tend to look brighter, but smaller....

Sorry I don't have any for sale right now. I thinned them out while I was collection tank parts if you know what I mean.. :D

Mine are the same way. About the size of a pencil eraser, short skirts and very bright.

I think the "no skimmer" method works well for zoas.. ;)

Tip of the day... now I have an excuse to setup a 10g zoa growout tank. "Honey, it'll be cheap... I don't even need to buy a skimmer!" :D
