Do gold heads sift as much as diamond watchmen's? thought about the gold heads but I wasn't sure if he would cause my rock scape to collapse with his sifting. My rock structure is on top of the sand and not below so should I buy them, and if not what would be the alternatives to aerating my sand? Also what are the benefits of aerated sand beds?

I have one and it goes to town every single day and also swims to top for food. Your rock should be fine. The main concern would be if you had coral. It would make a mess of it and kill most your coral and nems would be irritated. I would only recommend this fish in a FOWLR tank as mine sits in the sump, waiting to be rehomed. Uncleaned sand bed will entrap nitrates and phosphates and detritus.
