I have one in my display refugium along with a damsel. The tank is being torn down--sand to new sump and maybe to a coral qt tank. Rocks with kenya trees and xenia to the coral qt tank and rock with macro algae to sump.

The 125g tank is new so not much in sand. I did add a couple pcs of live rock to sump and saw that there were some amphipods on the rock (or water at bottom of bucket). I thought to add a couple cups of sand to the new display, along the back for additional seeding. The goby eats frozen when I put it in. Will he do okay without a lot of life in the sand bed?

If I put him in my 66 gal (where he was originally before I went fallow last june) I will havce to battle sand on lower corals and don't really want that. In the larger tank, I hope he can pick his spots and not totally wreck havoc on the entire tank. In the older tank, I'd have to constantly blow sand off corals. Not to say I won't in the new tank either! Almost wish I had a different goby, like the rainford? but he's what I have.

I could move some of the corals from the 60 gal to the 125 but they are doing so well. So if he is eating when I feed the tank, he should be okay without stuff in sand? Have copepods culturing and plan to see if they are ready to split yet. Or could just suck some out and add to sump now. Also plan to buy some more to get more diverse population. Should I wait to move him until I have more?
