I have had my golden Midas Blaney for about three months now, And he was nice and bright yellow gold when we got him however he is now a purple-ish color almost except for his tail. He is fat he is healthy he is a riot to watch cruise the tank he has grown noticeably in three months but is not gold anymore. This isn’t really a problem for me I just want to make sure that it’s not a health issue. Is he OK? He sure appears to be.

Some fish change coloration for environmental reasons (tankmates, lighting, water quality, etc) and sometimes maturity.

I’m not very knowledgeable about these blennies, to be honest. I’ve witnessed a large variance in coloration though.

Perfectly normal. Blue is a natural colour variation but it isn't fixed so it may change colour to the more normal orange in time.

Hi all! I just picked up a Midas blenny. Cute little juvenile, lots of personality! I couldn't find anything about juvenile colors but mine is kinda brownish/yellow right now.

Is that a typical juvenile color for them?
