Gold stem blue hammer

Haha what’s wrong with the hobby is people still expect to pay pricing that was the way it was 10 years ago. When was the last frag swap you went to? You don’t see anyone selling “normal” green and purple less than 40-50 a head. I have went to a bunch of lfs in the area and have never seen a teal/blue. Only the “normal” green, and at 50-75 a head.
Was at ReefAPalooza Chicago got a splatter hammer, orange hammer and a gold hammer for $200.

Green and purple hammers were around $30 to $40.

By all means you make your money while you can.

Been in the hobby for little over a year now.

And that’s at reefapoolza. I would expect to find deals at a venue of that magnitude. That’s almost a given. Like I said earlier in post I have no idea what to price it being I never see them this color. It’s far from a “normal” so also why I said shoot some offers.

You could probably clear up the bad press and skepticism by taking some photos more representative of what you see in person. If the pics you are offering is all one has to go by, it is hard to flip out 200.00 for a hammer. I feel bad for you that others are willing to stomp all over your post. I would think it much more representative of R2R compliance and respectfulness to just opt out without the criticism. Good luck to you.

my gold stem ... got it for 60 bucks couple months ago ... using it for comparison

I guess you've never been to Reefapalooza because the prices there are very expensive compared to an LFS. On the other point, you made you must have a more expensive LFS, as mine sells purple and green hammers for 25 a head, and the nicer ones for 35 a head. I don't know if you are trying to trick people or just are misinformed but you do you.

Yeah I understand they have a lot of very expensive stuff there. And yes in my area common hammers go for 30-50 easy. For now I’ll just stick to Facebook. This group is a bunch of whiney babies. At least there they are willing to help and talk. Like I said I don’t see these here, and haven’t. Which is why I didn’t know how to price, **** online they were selling for 350-400. Being why I said shoot offer. I bet you people still expect to pay 30 for torches. Last time I post here. Thanks for all the info over the time but goodbye.

The hammer that you posted that was going for 350-400 is very clearly not the same, the one from eBay is an Aussie gold hammer, whereas you have indo. If you look at other posts people do not "Whine" unless the op is misinformed, or a hack do not expect to pay $30 for indo torches, however for Aussie torches, $35 is a very fair price that I regularly see in my LFS. GLWS, and I would love to see if you are able to sell for more than 50 a head, because I will need to start selling things for more money.

Sad to say, but probably for the best for all involved. Someone who is unwilling to take criticism and still expects that a general coral demands a high price is misinformed and will do more damage here than good. You are trying to scam people with your pricing. Good luck and goodbye.

Wow... not so sure it's the criticism that's the problem. More like the jerky way it's being conveyed. Everyone's a hammer expert based on one terrible picture. Lol. Prices vary based on numerous reasons, no need to accuse the guy of trying to rip people off. What's wrong with the hobby = small people with big heads. Not all of us are like that.

Interesting. Coral price is getting more chaos. LOL. People added too much non-coral value to coral's selling prices now.
Still remember 2018 CA RAP. A WD frag. JXXXX was selling at $350. LXX OFXXX was selling for $175 just few booths away. And a local SXXXX backyard coral farm was selling for $75 directly opposite to JXXXX. Of cause the very similar size frags I'm talking about.

The way people say stuff is like they have never made a mistake or not known something. I'm glad R2R has all the smartest people and the best fact checkers known to man. This is not even my post and I want to never sell anything on R2R.

I sell these for $15/head on my thread. However, yeah... actual rare and cant get coral morphs do and should go for more. this one however, is common. I won't however be one that tells anyone what they should charge. its always upto the seller.

I agree. If you are not happy with the price then move on or at least PM the seller and negotiate. The worst thing to do is degrade someone’s sales thread publicly. I’m sure you wouldn’t want the same done to you.

I understand how you guys feel and please know that it’s not our purpose to bash people. But there were multiple responses that discussed the price being incorrect. I think most of us are hobbyists and as such we are trying to protect newbies from spending hundreds of dollars on a coral that is worth $20 only to be turned off by the hobby because they got ripped off. There are hobbyists that sell corals and make money to pay for their hobby, then there are people who try to take advantage of those that don’t know better and misrepresent what they have. I feel it’s our job as a community to ensure we are all hobbyists and not scammers trying to just make a quick buck. But maybe I’m wrong.

why do people think that newbies are dumb? they are not. besides it ipto each and every person to do thier due diligence on what they should or should not pay for something... honestly this debate about price is pointless as its always about what a seller and buyer agree to.

How do you reallyy know its common? Seen it in person, or photo of it that enhances or substantiates the sellers claim? No better than the bashers if you haven't. I do look towards peoples best side and do pay for that effort occasionally, but i do not think publicly trashing a guy is the propper way to treat people without real evidence. Buying top notch pictures of corals with perfect filtering or photo enhancement and never being able to replicate the "visual" i thought i purchased at a premium does bother me. Give this dude the benefit that he sees something in front of him that he did not represent in poor photography. I would almost buy this coral to stop this thread. It is shameful.

I would think moderators of r2r would step in and close or at least moderate this discussion.
