currentky have my Hawaiian dwarf moray in with other fish in quarantine. Have a 1.5 level of copper power, soon to run metroplex/general cure.

I’ve been told on one hand eels don’t handle meds very well, and on the other, eels are pretty resistant to carrying the usual suspect parasites.

Should I leave him in for duration of treatment, or should I move him to another tank or display?

Is the eel still eating whilst in copper? How long has he been in 1.5 ppm Copper Power??

When I had my eel in QT with copper he would only eat once every week if I’m lucky. He tried to escape the box I had him in. After putting him into my DT he eats fine. Best of luck

Been in copper since last Friday. Ramped it up to 2.0, then backed it downto 1.5 after reading some and not wanting to keep it that high.

FWIW, I got him from divers den. My local lfs, who sells them at double the price, keeps them in his coppered system which he runs copper power at 1/2 dose (1.25)

Eats silverslides any opportunity I give them, which is usually every other day

If the eel is eating and looks healthy then I don’t see an issue

@Humblefish is there any truth to them being resistant, and therefore not worth the stress of copper and other meds?

Resistant yes, but eels are still capable of being carriers i.e. pass on parasites to other fish.

I agree with @Jvesche20. So long as he's still eating and looking fine, keep him in copper. You can transfer him to a non-medicated QT after 2 weeks worth of therapeutic copper.

What about the metro in case he’s carrying brook or Uronema?

And 1.5 copper power should be sufficient for ich and or velvet correct?

IME; Eels handle metro just fine.

I personally would bump your copper level up to 1.75ppm for good measure/wiggle room.
