Goldflake Angel Tail Rot?

Received this goldflake angel 10 days ago with a part of it's tail missing. Retailer tells me it's nothing to worry about and that it will grow back. Not sure if it is getting better or worse. I started dosing kanaplex. Is there anything else I should be doing?

How long have you been treating it with Kanaplex? Antibiotics are very slow acting on fish. Need to treat for 10 days.

Looks like it's slowly healing. Treating with Kanaplex for 10 days is a sensible precaution.

It doesn't look like fin rot to me. Fin rot typically manifests with a white margin around the affected tissue. This just looks like a torn fin to me.
