Hi, I've had my 75 up and running for about 2 yrs. I concentrated on softies, leathers and montis.
After some thought, I came to the conclusion that I was spending too much time worrying about the tank and not relaxing with it.
I never could afford an apex or any other automated system, so lots of testing time.
Now I have the fish/inverts that I have wanted.
I will still be following the posts as I really enjoy people work and the info presented
Going to buy a harlequin tusk soon.

So you’re just gonna focus on your fish instead of on coral? Honestly, I’ve thought about setting up a fowlr at some point with super simple softies just cause my mixed reef takes so much time and effort. I never understood “relaxing” fish tanks until I set up a 200 gallon freshwater FOWLR (except it’s African root scape so I guess FOWAR?) and it’s just so nice to look at it, feed the fish, and not worry that a plant lost a leaf or got dug up by a cichlid. I’m excited for you! Harlequins are awesome :) what other fish do you have in there?

One day i'd like a FOWLR. 400g or so, with lots of big fish like tangs and an epaulette shark, but with acrylic reef models.

Thanks for your response. Right now I have a
One spot foxface
Kole tang
Valentini puffer
Cowfish
Boxfish
Filefish.
Lots of emerald crabs, snails, 2 urchins.
Woah!! How’s the care on the cow and box? I’ve been thinking about it but the expert only tag has been freaking me out

There really is very little care. I feed them/the tank a frozen clam or two three times a week and Rods herbivore the rest.
I’m not concerned about the idea of toxin release as these guys traveled all over the world to get to me lfs and never released it.
They grow fast the first 4 months then slow down. Every now and again, the gently push each other around, but not really aggressive.they have left all of my inverts alone. But I feed well.

Softies and mushrooms is about all I have, no need for an Apex or dosing. I just do water changes and that is about it. I don't want to be slave to my tank.
