Goni care

I've had this goni in my tank a while now and I just cannot get it to extend.
It started off fine but now just stays tiny wherever I put it in the tank.
I feed reef roids twice a week

Parameters
Salinity 1.025
Nitrate 5-10 ( sometimes higher)
Mag 1340
Calc 425
Phos 0.25
Alk 7.3

For lighting I have 2x hydra 26s.

All other corals seem fine.

Any advice would be great

Have you tried moving it around? Both of my Goniopora like a lot of light and a lot of flow.

Yeah I've tried it everywhere and it just doesnt want to come out.

Where was it at when it used to open? Could it be that it doesn’t like its neighbors?

It was pretty much same height in the tank just to the right. But it started staying small for a while so moved it. Tried it back in it's starting spot again but no joy.
I've tried putting it away from anything and still the same

Well, that’s a bummer.

Does it look like it’s wasting away or just small? Anything that might want to munch on it?

Unfortunately, goniopora have a reputation for being difficult sometimes.

It doesnt seem to be wasting away it just seems small and doesnt extend anymore. Which made me think it was getting to much light. But even with less light it's the same.

Nah not seen anything munching away on it either.

Ok so literally as I just sent that message I went and shined my torch into the tank and seen a tiny worm looking thing on it!
This could be the issue maybe?
Will have to dip it tomorrow

Interesting. Never new that could stop growth, I'll have to get that down and see if it effects it

Yea I’m not sure if it affects goniopora but figured I’d share it with you. I have two Gonis in my tank , one of them thrives off and on but is hosted by two clownfish and the other on looks healthy but doesn’t open as much. I noticed when mine is in an area with low flow it doesn’t open,
It’s definitely a picky coral.

The phosphate level in my tank would keep most reefers up at night............no coral issues at all.
Reefing is weird.

It was actually my 2nd coral I purchased I think. I didnt do any research and was just an impulse buy on looks.
Got home and read about them and was like yeah I probably made a mistake here [emoji23]

7.3 which is probably a little low but it seems to be stable around that.

No I was asking wv reefer, Seems like they were implying they had high phosphate with good coral growth so I’m wondering how High their alkalinity is.

I’m not implying anything..... it’s a fact.

I do not regularly test my reefs after the one year mark. All of my reefs are “dirty” reefs— no filter, no skimmer, no sump. Water change schedule is currently every two weeks. No dosing.
