Goni or clove or ?

Found this growing on the back of a rock - i don't think i've ever had clove polyps and the last time I had a goni in the tank was years ago. I thought it was a goni because it is a nice yellow color (not showing in the pic here) and seems to be growing altogether. but the polyps seem more like clove's i have seen online.

please ID.

It seems like a Goni cloves don’t have stalks that thick.

i think maybe you're right, but the polyps seem different. Also, note, this entire coral is about the size of my thumbnail.

7, I was told by another reefer there cloves.

mine has 8 per polyp. all of them come from what looks like a single mass ((like a goni)... but the polyps seem "different"

I thought I counted 8, but wasn't sure. It definitely looks different than a goni (which has 24 tentacles per polyp FWIW). Luckily for you there are only about 3,000 octocorallia species to sort through to ID yours! Hopefully someone sees this who recognizes it!
