Goniapora Dead?

This is the food. Goniopower you can buy anywhere reef food is sold. It comes with a little spoon. I use one spoonful for each coral in about 20 mL of tank water. Using the dropper I then drop the food mixture into the top of the tube. You can also pour it in but I prefer to use the dropper.

Feeding’s finished. Now we just wait an hour or two for them to consume the food and begin extending. We leave the feeding tool in place so they’re not disturbed by any fish or snails or any other creatures. I’ll post pictures of them after they’ve eaten and they begin extending.

Just to give you an idea of how successful this feeding method is, here’s a picture of the Red Goni after it was in my tank for about three weeks, before I mounted it into the flat rock. This was the beginning of February.

The Red Goni has almost finished and has already begun extending its tentacles. You can see the food in some of the tentacles’ little mouths with the tentacle shafts bloated with food and water.

At the two hour mark it looks like neither Goni has finished eating. I’ll leave the covers on until I see no tentacle mouths are covered by food.

I can almost guarantee that if your Goni is healthy and you feed him in this matter, he will begin extending his tentacles. Good luck.
