So I’ve been thinking on doing this for my nano now and I’m just wondering what’s the trick to keeping a Goni alive? Also, has anyone got a Goni dominant/only tank? I’d also love a few ideas on affordable species, I love some of the red gonis I’ve seen but is that just them under heavy blues to get the neon look? I’d also love ideas for placement and which colour morph you guys have.
Would I be able to do these with the other two flower pot species’ (Alveopora and one I forgot the name of) or would that go wrong?

Sure, anything's possible. I don't have a goniopora/alveopora dominant tank, but I do have 4 flowerpots (3 green including a watermelon and a single dark blue). At some point I'd like to add some pink, red and other colors. They're a mix of both alveopora and goniopora. Everything looks better under blues - including flowerpots. Mine seem to be thriving. Placement is all in the lower portion of the tank with reasonably good flow and maybe 50-75 PAR. Definitely separate them or coral warfare will ensue...

Yeah, I may stick to gonis since they seem to have the widest range of morphs/colour forms. I’ve always avoided these coral (All three flower pot species actually) thinking “What if it melts instantly” or “Will it thrive in my care” but now I think it’s time to combat the coral I’ve been scared of because NPS and most LPS/SPS I don’t get scared of and in a nano that’s basically the size of most Goni/flower pot gardens so I may aswell go for that Goni dominant. Do you know the key for getting one to thrive in captivity? I’ve been reading a lot on gonis and supposedly the Australian ones do better, is this right?
Here’s the rockscape for reference on what would be a better place to put them, it’s about 18” long by 15” wide and 18” tall. I may have one monti cap on the back wall but I don’t know about that happening.

It looks like you have lots of good spots on your rock. I'm not sure about Aussie vs. Indo in terms of hardiness, but I believe I have ones from both regions. They seem to thrive in lower lighting (75-125 PAR), low flow and average water parameters. They also do better if you don't have them constantly knocked over by your cleaning crew, too.

Okay, thanks for the tip! Guess I’m going to be doing a lot of puttying with coral haha

I have had Goni dominant and all we’re doing well and then slowly died off. I love them so slowly adding them back and moving them up higher, so far so good.
