Goniopora fungus or sponge?

Hi all!
i got this goniopora and was doing well untill i saw some polyps dying off. This white thing grows on the skeleton of the dead polyps. Been scrubbing it and trying to wash it with melafix and finished off with frag recover. It comes back after 1-2 days. Any method to get rid of this? Its suffocating my coral.

i’m surprised repeated scrubbing hasn’t worked. i can’t advise if the intruder is a sponge or a fungus, but what about dripping hydrogen peroxide directly over it?

Fixed the problem. Used my bone cutter to scrape the problem part. Used melafix and then brightwell frag recovery. Before glueing the infected part. Ses to be working so far.
