Goniopora growth

This might sound like an odd question but, how do gonis grow?

I figured they were like most lps and as their skeleton gets bigger they grow and get more polyps.
The main reason I ask is because I noticed that my fruitloop micro goni seems to have polyps growing onto my rock work.

unfortunatly I can’t really get a good picture of it as it’s further back in my tank and all I have is my phone.

If it's growing onto your rockwork that's great (unless you don't particularly want it to). But generally they expand their skeleton, yes.

Sounds more like you have bernardpora, as it is an encrusting species

I think you might be right. I think I saw a video somewhere that stated that micro gonis are actually bernardpora.
