I recently purchased my first few frags of gonis and 2 seem to be doing better than the one I have questions about. I can see the skeleton on this one, unlike the others, and it's also not getting the same kind of polyp extension. I'm curious if the skeleton I'm seeing is just from being fragged and the goni will grow over it or is it dying?

Gonis are very temperamental corals and will close for weeks at a time or longer. They need a well established stable environment. Yours may still be acclimating. Low to moderate flow and lights. They seem to dislike elevated phosphate in my tank.

I don't know, but do try to make sure you feed them (powdered stuff, mainly...I think Two Little Fishes has a goni food...) and make sure your manganese levels are good for these guys. Looking at the photos, you may have the second one in too much light.

These photos are all of the same goni that is in question and that second pic, I spotlighted in my editing of the photo, so it might appear in too much light. I have also been alternating feeding of AB+ and Reef Labs LPS groformula. I'm planning on also mixing in some phyto but I'm being careful not to overfeed the tank. They are probably getting too little flow since one of my wavemakers stopped working recently. I also have some Elementals Trace Mn that I will dose.
Added a photo of one of the others gonis I got at the same time which is also placed at same level in tank away from Hydra 24HD.

I was trying to remember one other element that was particularly needed by gonis. I believe it's vanadium.
