goniopora help

So my goniopora opens up, and looks great, but when it's all closed up there are 2 different color on the bottom. Is this good or bad? Healthy unhealthy? My water has been testing great. All at 0, with Ph at 8.3, calcium running about 460.

Hard to tell by the pic but it looks like the base is dieing. Not a super easy coral to keep.

The base isn't just dying, it's definitely been dead a while. The algae has already grown on it, and there's recent decay where the white skeleton is showing. Usually when a goni is dying you can't save it, sucks because some of them are show stoppers :/

Is there anything to do to save it? Or eventually will the while goni just die?
