Did you also have the goo appear? What did you do? I don’t have a puffer, I used to but he went to a better home as he wasn’t getting on with anything in the tank
Moved the goni to another tank. There's another goni in with the puffer he hasn't bothered yet.

The goo doesn't look good.

Just an update on all this, I very carefully removed it from the tank and fragged it and removed the piece that was decaying, there’s no goopey bits left and a few hours later all the polyps are showing and extended, hopefully that’s the end of that

Bro
Something has started going wrong with my Goni seemingly overnight, does anyone have an ID for what could be wrong here and what I can do to fix it?

Suck those jelly out. Cut the rock, dip it, and put it in different tank.
Use cipro / chloramphenicol 250mg / 150 liter in your MT to prevent spreading.

They definitely live on the sand bed in the wild, often in less than clear water. They need fed for certain, but not necessarily spot fed (I don’t spot feed mine, they double in size every 6 months or so, but I feed my whole tank a liquid food mixture I make by combining several ingredients). They don’t acclimate well or quickly. They shouldn’t be moved once placed in an aquarium. It takes months for them to acclimate to a new aquarium or when moved.

For me i was leaning toward alk swing…. The sand bed thing was odd for me cause the person I got it from said he had it in the sand also. When I went to googling I seen others say they target feed all their gonis and I don’t recall who but they had several varieties of goni and all we’re doing well(on YouTube) then I thought to myself I have never target fed mine etc….
Yes they don’t like alk swings either this has triggered tissue necrosis for me before. Saved with ciprofloxacin and amoxicillin thankfully, with no tissue loss.

they’re very intolerant of any change but fast growers when cared for properly.
