I finally found a spot it likes. After keeping alk and calc leveled elevated and stable along with weekly feeding of reef roids this thing has turned a new leaf and really opened up. It has even shown some growth and started re encrusting some of the dead spots where it was fragged. These last couple of days I noticed it is really reaching. Here is a pic do you think it is craving more light? It's center middle of a standard 75. My OR lights are at 45% blue 35% white. So far everything coral wise is happy so I have not turned the lights up any more.

Gonies can be tough to do over the long run. The smaller - short tentacle reds - and encrusting are easier...
I've never found a way to feed them that doesn't cause more harm than good - but the one in your picture looks happy.

I tend to have better success with them in higher flow - they don't extend as much but seem to do better. YMMV.

So far just a weekly squirt of reef roids with all pumps off seems to make him happy. Until the cleaner shrimp tries to get the food off of him

Low and indirect flow will help extension of the polyps and give it proper conditions to encrust...

Well if everyone thinks they are healthy looking I won't change anything. They used to be super finicky. They would close when I came near the tank or even if the dog barked. They seemed very sensitive to any kind of noise or vibration. Once closed they would not open again for days. Now they are wide open and stretching. If something touches them they will close for a minute but be fully extended again right away.

Once you find its happy spot leave it. As robert mentioned above they can be touchy. Suddenly or slowly start to recede. I have had some of my goniopora for years. They are filter feeders so powder foods are good. Feed as you said. Give them some calm waters for awhile to absorb the food. As they get bigger the polyps will be large enough to capture and eat brine shrimp.
