Goniopora upset or permanently eating?

i brought a goniopora but since bringing it to my tank it only opens to about 2-3 cm. before closing back up. I can't tell if is permanently eating, or if it doesn't like my tank.

It looks like it’s dieing, hence the receding tissue and all that exposed skeleton. Those green ones are incredibly difficult to keep. Try spit feeding it reef roids or goni power, it may come back, but most likely it’s far too gone at this point.

I purchased it with some dieoff, so let's focus on saving. Is dosing foods coupled with light all I can do? Because I already dose small foods anyway, so my water column is full of them, it's an nps tank

I think you're fine.

There were some othe probs in the tank recently I belive. Could be reacting to that , or new light.

There is a SIGNIFICANT difference in tissue loss in your tank vs that lfs pic.
Sorry but not much you can do to save save it besides spot feeding and making sure it’s in good moderate flow. Like I stated before it’s on its way out. Sorry.

I wouldn't give up, if a coral has tissue it has a chance. Oyster feast and reef roids mixture can do wonders. It looks like it's accepting food as well so that's a positive.

Update: I moved it down to my sand bed and it seems to be doing better. Although not fully opened like my lfs, every polyp is not closed and are actively eating. Also, I can now tell what their actual feeding reaction is. Thanks to @John Ostler for the camera app
