So I picked up this goni about 3 weeks ago, it was pretty much white with blue mouths.. Im not sure if it was bleached or just starving but now it is turning pink and starting to look really good. Really good find i think.

The cool thing is the color seems to be getting a deeper pink everyday.

I am having some goni issues. Best advice on placement? What are their growth rates if happy? I have WWC Fruit Loops that refuses to extend. It still has color but no one comes out to play

Mine seems to love medium light, medium flow. I also feel that the fact that I don't run any filter socks is very beneficial to this coral.

From my experience so far, flow is crucial! ! They don't like a lot of flow, but they love light, which makes them very difficult to please. Recently picked up another one a week ago and have moved it a half dozen times trying to find the sweet spot. They are definitely the most sensitive corals I own, even worse than acros in my opinion.

I have a gonipora that has slowly stopped opening up.

I keep the following parameters
PO4=0.01
NO3=5
Filter socks=5 micron
alk=8.0
water change=1% daily
flow=slow (can move it to a high flow area if suggested)
lighting=shaded (was intense/direct but recently moved it)

Any suggestions?

It’s tricky to clean is bad to dirty is bad and I have seen a ton of opinions on this. I do by weekly water changes and dose twice a week. My Corals tend to tell me if they don’t like something.

I know what you mean. PO4 sometimes goes up to 0.05 or so but then drops to near nothing again in a few days. What PO4 level do you and others recommend for gonipora? 0.10ish?
