Does anyone know what is happening to my coral. It looks like its flesh is coming off. If this is so what can I do to stop it. Also it seems like my fancy snowflake is picking at it or cleaning it or sumthing. Here are pics

please help I don't want to lose this gut probably my favorite coral!

I hope this isn't what it is but right now that suggestion is more than anything else I got. I read the article from that link and it said it progresses fast and so far this has been slowly getting worse so it might not be BJD. Keeping fingers crossed

Whatever it is it wouldn't hurt to take a turkey baster and siphon (suck) the dead part off.

Just went back and read the article so I'd know what you're taking about. Seems to me that if you suspect BJD it should be removed from the general population. Goniopora are one of the corals that do get this disease and spread it to others. I know this isn't in that article and nothing I've referred to thus far is; but, if it were mine I'd dip it in a 50/50 hydrogen peroxide/saltwater mix and isolate it from the other corals 'till I was certain. That's just me - H2O2 kills germs, good and bad, I'd dip it for 5 minutes. Or you could not listen to me, also.

Suck on it with a turkey baster, gently. Dip it like I mentioned, making sure you rinse it in another container of saltwater and put it back in. Do what you can with what you've got.
