what is the secret to keeping them? my wife loves them but I have heard they are very hard to keep. I may try one for her. can I get some pointers on their husbandary?

thanks,
mike

Go for a red one. They tend to be much hardier. I have also heard that Amino acids help a lot in the long run.

she saw a purple/white one that she really likes...I also heard or read somewhere to dose I believe iron for them...anyt houghts?

Alveopora tends to be a bit easier to keep than goniopora(neither of which will I ever own again). The thought is that they are found in waters with much less than ideal conditions than we keep our tanks. I'd stay away from them. Maybe you can buy something that looks very similar to flowerpots and pass it off as one:wink:.

i dont know too much about them except one of those ones you hear "better left in the ocean" kinda thing.

I had one for over two years and it done great, it was pink and purple. But, I think I got lucky. I have heard that they are impossible to keep alive. I would imagine that they make an absolute mess when they die. Better left alone.
