All my research shows that gonis can touch without any issues. So I made a Goni island as I was adding new corals the other day.
Now I notice that where the two gonis touch, the pink one has has retracted. Is this because it needs to get used to being touched? Are there different types that aren’t compatible?

Cooties, lol I have no clue.

Maybe something else is bothering it? To eliminate this suspicion i think it would be a good idea if you move one of them away for a week and look at the one with the closed polyps, if it stays closed then maybe its a pest or something else? Just a thought, im no expert.

They were fine before I moved them yesterday. It’s just when they touch. Here’s a shot from the front. Full extended.

These two are similar so it looks fine, but i have had a red long tentacle and a green/purple long tentacle goni do a lot of damage to eachother so just be careful
