Good active fish to add to a smaller tank

I was thinking adding either a dwarf angel, two small anthias, a baby tang(to be taken out later for obvious reason) or maybe a leopard/potters wrasse.

Tank mates would be a convict blenny, baby angler, and a clownfish pair. The tank is 34 gallons and the convict blenny might get taken out.

I do have sps lps palys/zoas and even a gorgonian so I'd like something interesting but less likely to kill my corals. I do have a homemade screen top on my tank so jumping isn't an issue, and I am hatching brine shrimp so if they are "finicky" that isn't a huge deal. I'm just looking for something that even if it does require special food has a fair chance or survival and will capture my attention when it swims. Not too interested in flasher wrasses or anything of that sort

One of the Centropyge angels is the only one mentioned that might fit. All others simply need a larger tank. You may have some territorial problems. What kind of angler? You might have a species specific tank before long.

Exactly. I would not go with anthias. They may quickly become a snack for the angler. They also seem to do better in larger tanks, IME.

the angler is so small that it has only been able to eat ONE peppermint shrimp and that was the smallest one I could find. The angler isn't an issue as far as eating fish goes its less than an inch long

Anthias require much more room. I would look into some fairy or flasher wrasse sp.

You will need a top on the tank though.

Flasher wrasses are very active, colorful and don't get much bigger than 3-4 inches. Love 'em

Do you have a deep sand bed? Any Leopard Wrasse will require one, if you hope to keep it healthy for any length of time.

In both cases they are suggesting that you have a four foot tank for them, so I would say a 55 gal. minumum.

My Sandbed is made of bigger chunks of crushed coral skeletons usually used in things like reactors. Would that be a problem???

I've seen those at my lfs and they are interesting, but I don't think it would quite be that centerpiece fish I'm looking for. However that is my own opinion

I'm partial to basslets, I have six in my tank and they add a lot of movement and interaction amongst each other. But if your looking for something fancy look into the fridmani. In that small of a tank you should see it more often than normal.
