Hey people,
What in the Yoncalla are these white sluggy growths? This rock came out of a tank that had been established for 10+ yrs that fell on some hard times. From what i understand the tank went through a 2 day power outage with disastrous consequences about a year and 1/2 ago and hasnt had much love since. It recently started leaking and i got everything in the tank for the price of moving it . I noticed these when transplanting the rock , they seem to be slowly growing in size and numbers in the last 2 months, mostly in the shadows. Should i be glad or sad?

Thankyou......i was hoping for the best , preparing for the worst. I noticed a few brittle worms when transplanting the rock but im thinking they were much better established than i thought as i i am see more all the time. Will a six line wrasse eat the big ones, will anything? I don't want to exterminate them, just keep them under control.

The available food in your system will dictate the amount of bristle worms in the system. Just don't allow a lot of waste to collect and you will be fine.
