Looking to get 1 or 2 fish for a 7 gallon cube mixed reef that's been up for about 6 weeks now. I was thinking about converting a black molly to SW and getting one additional small true ocean fish (some type of goby or orchid dottyback?). I'm also looking to sticking to only captive raised fish. Any recommendations? My wife wants to put a clown pair instead but I'm worried they get too big.

7 gal is a small tank to have any substantial fish stock, clowns should have at least 20 gallons to be comfortable. You should check out the recommended requirements for the fish you are looking at on, https://www.liveaquaria.com/category/15/marine-fish , as a reference point as they do have the basic information.
As far as getting captive raised ask your local fish store if they have any, can get from supplier, or look online for captive breed fish. Live aquaria and other websites have captive breed as well as ORA

If you can get them Clown Gobies would be ok in that size tank.
Personally, I would likely get some sexy shrimp. They are just too cute and nice and small.

Many of these nano fish would do ok in a 7 gallon tank; just look for ones that say 10 gallon minimum tank size.
I'm personally a fan of the Rainford's Court Jester Goby.
