Good corals for the sandbed?

You know lol
that question could take me all day to write out. There are sooooooo many that look amazing on the sandbed. There’s are ultra scans, scolys, tracs, chalices, softies, plastic fake stuff from wal mart (just kidding), bubble coral, plate coral, tons of coral.
Mmmm maybe you can research the types of corals that spark your interest. Then make a list and do a pool and see what most others think. You will have to narrow it down, or your poll won’t be a page it will be a book series volumes one to a hundred. But hope this helps and when in doubt if it’s beautiful to you in your eyes, then by all means.

Trachyphyllia and acan colonies. I prefer to put a short piece of Pvc in the sand to keep them directly off the sand. It makes it a bit harder to get rogue sand on them which irratates the coral.

It's a look that's not as popular today, but I've always been partial to a ricordea garden eventually covering the sand. This was usually done by placing a ton of rubble of the substate and letting them grow all over each other. In fact, one of the craziest tanks I'ver ever seen had a wall to wall ricordea garden on the sand and GSP completely covering the back wall. If I'm remembering correctly, he had amazing SPS near the top of the tank, LPS near the middle, then zoas filling in all the blanks. I looked around for an old pic on RC since it was a TOTM at one point, but this was probably 10-12 years ago.

You gotta be careful wit zoas in the sandbed tho because they are very sensitive to sand getting stuck on them. Palythoas fare better in the sand.
